A Glimpse into My Life

My name is Birgit, and I've been immersed in the world of empowering senior women through life's various transitions.

My commitment to empowering and uplifting women as they navigate the complexities of aging has been a personal journey close to my heart. As I traverse the different stages of life, I've found myself pondering questions and seeking answers. This site will focus on the myriad subjects that 'getting older' brings about.

One unique characteristic about me is my strong belief in the resilience and strength of senior women.

I aspire to create a space where senior women discover resources

Furthermore, in this space, women find support, inspiration, and a feeling of solidarity.

Whether it's advice on navigating retirement, maintaining vitality and wellness, nurturing relationships, or exploring newfound passions, I endeavour to be a guiding light and a source of encouragement.

Note: Through my posts, I aim to shed light on the topics pertinent to women who are 50 and above. My goal is to foster a vibrant community where support, advice, and inspiration flow freely.

One of the most defining moments in my journey was losing my sister to illness.

My sister was a tremendous inspiration to me in how she approached life. Her unwavering positivity in the face of adversity was truly inspiring – especially as I'm usually the one known for having a bright outlook. Her strength encapsulated the resilience and determination of women, further solidifying my commitment to champion their stories and journeys through this blog.

Beyond my dedication to supporting senior women, I find joy and balance in teaching piano, cultivating my garden, cherishing family gatherings, and going for walks. These activities fuel my creativity and add depth and richness to my life.

Just a quick glimpse into my life: I was born in the Netherlands, had a pretty sheltered upbringing, and in my early years encountered some bullying.

Decided to ditch the whole 'clique' thing, opted for quality over quantity in friends, and voila, life got heaps better—fewer friends, but way happier.

Following my studies in social pedagogy in Nijmegen, I got a job, got married, and made the leap across the pond to the UK. I became parent to several children.

My hubby and I ventured into our own business, where I learned the ropes of running operations, dealing with customers, and discovered my passion for selling at exhibitions.  Life is on a new track now, but we're still keeping busy and enjoying life.

As the years roll on, I'm finding new questions popping up - the whole deal with healthy living, keeping the weight in check, and tackling various body issues.

So, I've been diving headfirst into these topics, getting down to the nitty-gritty. The results are right here for you to check out, and I hope they come in handy for you too.

Thanks for reading the posts! If there's anything specific you'd like me to chat about, just drop your queries or comments on the contact page, and I'll see what I can do.

Here's to celebrating the extraordinary paths of senior women and building a haven filled with invaluable advice and guidance. Thank you for joining me on this empowering adventure!
